Shufnoodle - Verica Poznanović - Recipes and Cookbook online

The meaning of the word "shufnoodle": rolls of dough mixed with potatoes, shaped and the size of a finger.

Shufnoodles, ingredients:

  • 800 g of potatoes,
  • 200 g of flour,
  • 3 tablespoons of oil,
  • a pinch of salt,
  • a teaspoon of sugar and
  • 1 egg.

For rolling you need:

  • 100 g breadcrumbs,
  • 100 g of ground poppy seeds,
  • sugar to taste and
  • vanilla sugar.

Shufnoodles, preparation:

  • Peel the potatoes and put them to cook.
  • Mash the boiled potatoes with a fork, add a little salt, oil and egg, then mix everything well so that there are no lumps in the potatoes. At the end, add flour and knead the dough.
  • Make small balls, then roll each ball into a roller and cut to the desired length.
  • Pour water into a pot, add a pinch of salt, and when it boils, drop the noodles. Cook for a few minutes until they float to the surface.
  • Fry the breadcrumbs with a little oil, then add ground poppy seeds, sugar to taste and vanilla sugar, then roll the noodles.
