Everyone loves to eat homemade bone soup, but many do not know that a hollow bone has the power to revive us.

Cook bone soup, add some vegetables and noodles and you don't need anything else for lunch. The longer the bones are cooked, the tastier the soup will be. Homemade soup most often brings back memories of our childhood. However, not only emotions are key here. In addition to its excellent taste, we must not forget the fact that grandma's soup is good for the body. And that's why we don't forget her so easily.

The secret is not in the meat from it, but in the least expected part - in the bones. Meat here is only a sporadic companion that can enhance the taste. What brought bone soup back to modern nutritional trends in a big way is the fact that the cavity of the bone hides great treasures.

Animal bones are useful because when cooked they release content rich in minerals, mainly calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, silicon and sulphur. Glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate are obtained from cartilage and tendons, which are excellent for joint health.

A cure for many diseases

Therefore, vitamins are not essential in the bones. The key is minerals, which are easily absorbed by our body, and we can compensate for vitamins by adding vegetables to soup or using them in the form of a salad.

On the other hand, we should not expect to solve all problems with hot soup, but many can be alleviated, even more prevented. It is a lifesaver for anyone suffering from irritable bowel syndrome. Namely, gelatin from animal bones, legs and joints calms the intestines and heals the mucous membrane, aids digestion and cures constipation. Rich in amino acids, hollow bone soup cleanses the body and helps us overcome colds and malaise. The soup acts as a natural antibiotic.

As you get older, eat more soup

The marrow from the hollow bone also leaves its mark on beauty. It contains collagen, a protein that turns into gelatin when cooked, making the skin, hair and nails stronger and more beautiful. The marrow is also called natural botox, and as collagen production in human bones decreases with age, additional intake is valuable.

The content of cooked animal bone is rich in glycosamine, an organic compound that slows the wear and tear of joint cartilage, and chondroitin sulfate from cartilage helps prevent osteoarthritis. It also contributes to better sleep, thanks to glycine, a type of amino acid that also affects stronger memory. And Harvard scientists have proven that regular use of boiled bone soup reduces certain symptoms of autoimmune diseases.

With all that, bone soup contributes to a good line, it is ideal for a reduced diet.

RECIPE: Baked hollow bone

You don't have to use bones only in cooked form. You will get a more spicy version when you bake them in the oven. Arrange the salted bones vertically in the pan, add salt, pour oil and add water. Place in a well-heated oven and bake at the highest temperature until you see that the bones have released their delicious contents. If necessary, add water from time to time. At the end of baking, sprinkle everything with fresh chopped parsley. Serve with red onion fried in margarine, seasoned and stewed in white wine.

RECIPE: Veal soup, hollow bone

Place one hollow veal bone in a pot with plenty of water and let it boil for about an hour. Then add carrots, parsley root, celery, parsnips and onions. When all the added ingredients are cooked, strain them and save the cooking liquid. Chop the vegetables, pour them into the soup, add the pasta and season. Bring the soup to a boil. Remove from the heat and sprinkle with a handful of fresh chopped parsley.
