Traditional recipes of local cuisine will be a theme throughout 2017.
As we all know, the promotion of local, traditional cuisine is an indispensable part of the offer of every country, as part of the offer of the food and processing industry, as well as the tourist offer (both locally and globally).
With this action, we want to promote and preserve from oblivion the best recipes of Serbian traditional cuisine and the region. The best chosen and declared traditional recipes will be given their place in the book that we will publish after the end of the action.
Serbian cuisine is, in fact, traditional recipes, which were created in the past under the influence of various peoples, friendly and conquerors, who temporarily or permanently settled in these areas. Serbian cuisine, we can freely say, as a part of local culture, apart from the fact of various influences, over time has also created originality and uniqueness, peculiar only to certain regions.
The use of meat, dough, vegetables and dairy products prevails in Serbian cuisine. Food preparation is a special part of Serbian tradition and culture. In Serbian villages, the kitchen was also called "house", and the central part was the hearth, which represented an important, cult place, next to which everyday life took place and the whole family gathered. Dishes prepared under the stove, in the hearth, are one of the culinary specialties of the entire Balkans, as well as Serbian traditional cuisine.
