Rubbish is a traditional salad and one of the favorite salads from the south of Serbia and from place to place there are slight differences in the preparation of this salad.
In some places, the dried peppers are only lightly scalded, then chopped, in some places they are first washed a little over an open flame, then pounded, and in some places they are boiled, drained and then chopped.
They say it's a poor man's salad because it only contains peppers and leeks. My roots are from "Pirot" and this is how we prepare it...

Trljanica is a traditional salad and one of the favorite salads from the south of Serbia, and from place to place there are slight differences in the preparation of this salad.
- 1 large leek (finely chopped)
- 5-6 dried peppers (preferably hot)

- Clean the leek, cut it finely and put it in a bowl.
Roast the hot, dry peppers a little on the stove or in the oven, crush them finely, and put them in a bowl.
Add salt to taste, pour over oil and mix.
Leave the salad to rest for a while, then serve it with hot bread.
