The Tourism World announced that according to the data of the Republic Institute of Statistics, in the period January-March 2018, a total of 584.010 tourists stayed in Serbia, which is 11% more than in the same period last year, of which 320.400 were domestic ( +10%) or 55% of the total number of guests, and foreign guests 263.610 (+12%). These data do not include data for the territory of AP Kosovo and Metohija.
In the first three months of this year, a total of 1.726.665 overnight stays (+11%) were achieved, of which domestic tourists achieved 1.092.868 overnight stays (+9%), and foreign tourists 633.787 (+14%).
Measured by the number of overnight stays, domestic guests stayed the most in Kopaonik (212.352 overnight stays, which is 4% less compared to the period January-March 2017), followed by Zlatibor, Belgrade, Vrnjačka Banja, Tara, Divčibare, Selters banja, Stara mountain, Novi Sad, Banja Koviljača, etc.
As for foreign guests, they mostly stayed in Belgrade (314.366 overnight stays, +8%), followed by Kopaonik, Novi Sad, Zlatibor, Vrnjačka Banja, Subotica, Stara planina, Banja Koviljača, Kragujevac, Sokobanja...
From foreign countries, the largest number of overnight stays in the period January-March 2018 was achieved by tourists from Romania (51.076 overnight stays, +63%), followed by tourists from Montenegro (+5%), Bosnia and Herzegovina (+1%), Croatia (+8%), Bulgaria (+10%), Macedonia (+22%), Russia (-17%), Turkey (+32%), Greece (-3%), Slovenia (+11%).
