Uštipci recipe, a traditional recipe for sweet Uštipci from the cookbook of our mothers and grandmothers. You can make many variations of this recipe.

  • 3 pieces of eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 0,5 packets of fresh yeast
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 0,5 l milk (about half a liter)
  • 200 g flour (about 200 g)
  • oil for frying
  • powdered sugar (for serving)
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat three whole eggs. Add a spoonful of oil, half a packet of yeast, a pinch of salt, while stirring. Add flour and lukewarm milk (about half a liter), with constant stirring, enough to make the dough thicker than for pancakes. After that, mix the mass well with a mixer. Leave the mass for 30 minutes to soak.
  2. In a deep frying pan, heat the oil. Scoop out the dough for the breadsticks with a spoon and fry in very hot oil and while turning, fry both sides. After frying, leave the clips on a paper towel to drain. Serve warm, sprinkled with powdered sugar.
