Vanilla cake with cherry topping.

Vanilla cake with cherry topping, ingredients:

  • 750 ml milk
  • 7 spoons of sugar
  • 1 bag of vanilla sugar
  • 1 bag of vanilla pudding
  • 60 g density
  • 125 g butter (or margarine)
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 spoons of sour cream
  • 30 pieces of biscuits (Turkish petit)
  • 50 g of jam
  • 100 ml milk

for the dressing:

  • 100 g of cherries (peeled)
  • 100 ml of water
  • 1 spoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of density

Vanilla cake with cherry topping, preparation:

  1. Beat the egg yolks, add pudding and thickening, pour in 250 ml of milk and mix so that there are no lumps. Put sugar and vanilla sugar in 500 ml of milk and heat (but do not boil). Pour in the egg yolk, pudding and stock and knead at a moderate temperature until it thickens. Remove from heat, add butter/margarine and stir to melt and combine.

  2. Knead the sour cream as well.

  3. Pour the hot mixture into a mold (25x10x8cm), lined with foil. Separate 5-6 tablespoons of the filling into a bowl.

  4. Arrange the biscuits vertically (4×5 pieces).

  5. Put the separate filling and a row of biscuits on top.

  6. Cover with foil and place in the refrigerator to cool and harden.

  7. Remove the foil and place the cake (invert the mold) on a tray.

  8. Decorate it with whipped cream with milk.

  9. Boil the cherries, water and sugar for 5 minutes at a moderate temperature. Stir the mixture with a little water and pour into the cherries. Knead to thicken. Cool the dressing and put it over the slaw.

  10. Return to the refrigerator for a short time, so that the slaw and topping cool down and harden. Cut the cake and enjoy the taste.
