Vanilla flowers.
Vanilla flowers, ingredients:
- 200 g of fat
- 70 g of sugar
- 2 bags of vanilla sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk
- grated zest and center of 1/2 frozen lemon
- 400 g flour
- More:
- if necessary, jam from dogwood
- 2 vanilla sugar
- 100 g of powdered sugar
Vanilla flowers, preparation:
- Beat the fat or margarine with sugar and vanilla sugar with a mixer or whisk. When the mass becomes white and creamy, add the egg, yolk and grated zest and center of the lemon.
- Mix it up.
- Gradually add flour and mix in a soft, non-sticky dough. Transfer the dough to the work surface and knead. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 0.5 cm. Use a flower-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies so that one cookie is whole, and use a smaller cookie cutter to cut out a circle in the middle of the second cookie. Arrange in a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in an oven heated to 180 C for about 10-15 minutes. Check occasionally that they do not burn.
- Connect the hot cookies with dogwood jam so that the whole flower is at the bottom, and the flower with a hole in the middle is at the top. Mix vanilla sugar with powdered sugar and roll in vanilla beans. Arrange the vanilla beans in a bowl with a lid. Let them stand for at least one day and serve!
