Vanilla with anise - a traditional recipe with a small change.

Vanilla with anise, ingredients:

  • 400 g flour
  • 60 g density
  • 90 g of powdered sugar
  • 210 g cold butter
  • 100 g ground almonds
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of ground aniseed
  • pomegranate jam or powdered sugar to taste
  • vanilla sugar

Vanilla with anise, preparation:

  • Mix the flour, shortening, powdered sugar and ground almonds to combine the ingredients.
  • Add eggs and butter cut into pieces, and ground anise and knead the dough.
  • Wrap the dough in cling film and leave it in the fridge for an hour.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured work surface to a thickness of about 0,5 cm, then use a rolling pin or a cup dipped in flour to make circles.
  • Place the circles in the baking tray, leaving a little space between them.
  • Bake in a heated oven at 200ºC for seven minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and leave to cool.
  • Spread the cooled circles thinly with pomegranate jam and join two circles at a time.
  • The joined circles are sprinkled with powdered sugar mixed with vanilla sugar.
  • Pleasant!
