Is it better to give baby food without herbal spices?

Purchased porridges generally do not have the addition of herbal spices in their content, there is even a practice in our country that it is better to give babies food that does not contain any spices, however, in countries around the world, mothers will not agree with this and the practice is different.

So, for example, babies in India add curry, coconut milk, lemon grass, chili and many others to their food, while, say, Latin American babies add cumin, coriander and even chili peppers to their diet. In our country, however, there is a practice of giving homemade teas, for example, made of cumin. Then why the fear of spices? If you eat spicy food yourself, you can start earlier to accustom your baby to the same food, which he will eat later with you.

Note: When you cook you have a choice and you should make the most of it. Use herbal spices and avoid adding salt and sugar to your baby's diet as long as possible.

When should herbal spices be introduced?

Most will agree that the period around the 8th month is the best for introducing herbal spices due to the maturation of the digestive tract in babies. However, if your baby shows that he has no digestive problems, you can introduce spices even earlier.

Although spices, usually not associated with allergic reactions, they should be introduced like any food before. Spices should be introduced one at a time, for a period of 3-7 days. Which means: introduce one herbal spice and use it or wait a few days, and then another. Talk to your pediatrician about introducing spices.

Note: If you are breastfeeding, your baby has already "tasted" the spices through your milk.
