Risotto is a traditional Italian dish whose main ingredient is rice. Italians usually add parmesan to risotto, which is not customary in our region. Pilaf is the dish most similar to risotto.

Risotto, a rice dish, can be prepared in various ways. It is important that you have the main ingredient, rice, and everything else may or may not. I usually prepare risotto without meat, but with vegetables. Risotto can be lean or fatty.

However you make it, it will be delicious. Now I decided to "drink" him. White wine has been hanging around in my fridge for months. I bought cooking cream, the taste of which I normally can't stand. And why I bought it - I don't even know myself. I should try to include it in my diet, since I don't like dairy products, but it just doesn't work, it doesn't work. I softened the milky smell, the smell of cooking cream, with white wine, and masked it with garlic and spices.

Risotto prepared in this way is creamy and tasty, and the smell and taste of sour cream do not come to the fore. If you are a fan of milk flavors, you can add more cream than the specified amount.

Risotto is very easy to prepare. You can use any kind of rice. If you like parboiled rice, parboil it. If you like "al dente" - cook it a little shorter. Make lunch according to your taste, not according to the usual rules.

Baked risotto, ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 paprika
  • 1 slice of celery
  • 1/2 eggplant
  • 5 champignons
  • 1 cup rice*
  • 1 cup of white wine
  • 1 cup cooking cream
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese
  • spices to taste: salt, pepper, curry, herbs.

*For the risotto, I used Kočan rice.

Baked risotto - preparation:

  • Boil the rice with a cup of water.
  • When the rice has absorbed the water, remove it from the heat.
  • Cut the vegetables into smaller cubes and fry them briefly in hot oil at a high temperature.
  • Combine vegetables and rice, pour wine, cream, Parmesan cheese, add chopped garlic and season to taste.
  • Bake in a heated oven at 200 degrees for about half an hour.

You can bake the risotto in an earthen pot or a regular pan. A container with a volume of about 1,5 l is sufficient for this quantity.

If you are not a fan of white wine, you can pour plain water into the risotto and eliminate the wine. All the listed ingredients are currently in the fridge. You don't have to put everything under mandatory. Make your own risotto combination.

You can cook risotto only on the stove or in the oven. I would like to mention that the sealed risotto has a different taste compared to the one that is just cooked.
