Homemade baguette recipe - Verica Poznanović - Recipes and Cookbook online

Homemade baguette recipe - long, thin French white bread with a very crispy crust. The original name is baguette.

Today, this bread is consumed all over the world, and there are different types, from dark, integral to those with various seeds and stone fruits. In addition to being used as bread with a meal, a baguette is handy for making sandwiches and bruschetta.

Homemade baguette recipe, ingredients:

Ingredients for "starter":

  • half a teaspoon of dry yeast,
  • half a cup of room temperature water i
  • 1 cup flour.

Baguette ingredients:

  • 1 cup of lukewarm water,
  • 1 teaspoon dry yeast,
  • half a kilo of flour + flour for sprinkling and
  • 1 teaspoon of salt.

Homemade baguette recipe, preparation:

  • Knead the ingredients for the starter - flour, yeast and water.
  • Wait for it to stand overnight or for a minimum of 6 hours. You will get a dough that is full of bubbles.
  • Knead the baguette mixture in a separate bowl. If necessary, add flour or water. Add the dough starter and mix.
  • Leave the dough in a warm place and cover it.
  • After 1 hour, stir. Then let it rest, then stir again.
  • Put the dough on the work surface, flour it and divide it into equal balls.
  • Roll out the balls lengthwise with a rolling pin and slowly shape them into a baguette.
  • Put baking paper on the tray, move the baguettes, cut them a couple of times.
  • Let them rest for about 1 hour and cover them with a kitchen towel.
  • Bake until golden brown at 200C, in a preheated oven.

I added some roasted pumpkin to these baguettes.
