Once you try this spicy spicy spread with an unusual ingredient, i.e. walnuts, you will never make it again Ajvar in an established manner.

Serbian cuisine is known for some dishes that cannot be tasted anywhere else in the world. One of them is namaz ajvar. Whether for breakfast, snack, lunch or dinner, it's a choice you can't go wrong with.

However, most people prepare it in a traditional way or according to an old recipe inherited from their mother or grandmother. But why not add some to it and achieve a completely new flavor with a hint of interest.

ingredients:

  • 800 g of large red pepper
  • 1 hot pepper
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • juice of half a lemon
  • 50 g of walnuts
  • a pinch of ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 50 ml of olive oil
  • 30 g breadcrumbs

<strong>Preparation: </strong>

  • Wash the peppers well, wipe them dry and place them on a rack in the oven that you have heated to 200 degrees. Bake for 50 minutes, turning occasionally.
  • Peel and deseed the roasted peppers. Then chop the cleaned peppers, hot pepper, garlic, juice of half a lemon, cumin and lightly toasted walnuts. When the mixture becomes smooth, add salt, olive oil and breadcrumbs and mix everything a little more.

Let it cool and spread it on the bread.

Additional tip:

Take care that one jar of ajvara melts quickly, so double the amount from the recipe and enjoy the most beautiful flavors of home cooking.
