Belgrade, June 14, 2018 - METRO Serbia and the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia signed an Agreement today will provide free workshops on the topic of contemporary gastronomy to entrepreneurs from the hospitality sector throughout Serbia. The project will last until the end of the year, and so far businessmen from Požarevac and its surroundings have participated in it.
"Through the education program, businessmen in the hospitality sector of Serbia will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills in the field of gastronomy and new business trends and thus improve the quality of products and services and stand out from the competition with their offer." There is no better place than METRO where we can offer our members, small and medium-sized enterprises, better knowledge in this area.
Čadež reminded that about 28.000 entrepreneurs and companies operate in the catering sector, of which 8.000 are in Belgrade. The President of the PKS emphasized the importance of organizing educational workshops like this one throughout Serbia, in which the regional chambers will play an active role.
The hospitality industry has a strong influence on the development of the economy and in recent years has shown great potential in Serbia, and the number of tourists is increasing year by year. In order to help entrepreneurs manage their business better and discover how to stand out from the competition with their gastronomic offer, a workshop entitled "Tendencies in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry" was held in Belgrade today. In addition to Belgrade and Požarevac, trainings will be organized in Novi Sad, Čačak, Subotica, Niš and Kragujevac (with regions).
The host of the meeting and the director of the company METRO Serbia, Mr. Roberto Mancuso, said on this occasion, "METRO has started changes in its operations in the past few years, and they are also noticeable on the Serbian market, where we notice that the future of business in the hospitality sector is increasingly important . That is why our focus is on customers from the HoReCa sector, but not only in the context of our business, but also because we believe that we can contribute to the growth of the hospitality industry and make a positive difference on the Serbian market. Many innovative services and services that we provide globally, such as free digital tools for restaurateurs, are soon planned here as well."
About 30 businessmen participated in the workshop, who received practical advice from experts in this field on how to organize their business according to the highest standards, increase profitability and improve the quality of food and services. Certificates were distributed to the participants after the workshop.
The Serbian Chamber of Commerce recognized this project as complementary to its strategic plans to strengthen the business of domestic companies, in this case businessmen from the hospitality sector. The commitment of the Chamber of Commerce and the businessmen gathered around it, to be a link to entrepreneurs and new opportunities for their business development, is best seen through projects like this one.
