On the occasion of Serbia's Statehood Day, the British "Telegraph" published an article about Belgrade in the section dedicated to travel. It is emphasized that there has never been a better time to visit the capital of Serbia.

The Telegraph states that Serbia is in the process of joining the EU and that the dinar is used as currency in Belgrade. Tickets for tourist attractions and public transport are affordable, and food and drink costs are also very modest.

Belgrade is considered a destination that can be enjoyed in all seasons. Nightlife is very exciting and diverse, so everyone will find something for themselves - jazz, folk, techno... In the summer months, the nightlife moves to the rivers, Danube and Sava. People enjoy parties on rafts, where the offer is also varied.

A big advantage is that Belgrade is located at the confluence of the Sava and the Danube. It is divided into "the more attractive, old part and New Belgrade, which is defined by post-war brutalist architecture."

The Temple of Saint Sava is one of the largest temples in the world. The project, which was started in 1935, has not yet been completely completed and is so large that even today work is being done on the interior of the church, including painting, according to the reporters of the British newspaper.

They are delighted with kebabs, a traditional Balkan dish consisting of minced meat grilled. They claim that kebabs must be tried with onions. However, it doesn't end there when it comes to food, because there are many different restaurants in Belgrade with wonderful views of the rivers and an intimate atmosphere.

The Kalemegdan fortress with a view of the Sava and the Danube is a popular city park, where the citizens of Belgrade enjoy the fantastic view. Within the fortress there are monuments to famous Serbs and an impressive Military Museum and Zoo. Cultural events, such as theater performances and concerts, are also held inside the Kalemegdan fortress.

It is possible to reach Belgrade by train from Bar, and Telegraf states that it is the most spectacular train journey in Europe. It is emphasized that during the journey it is possible to see wonderful scenes, mountains, lakes and bridges. Tickets are affordable, and in principle it is not difficult to get a seat by the window, according to reporters.

It is mentioned that in Belgrade it is possible to see the buildings belonging to the communist era and the ruins that remained after the NATO bombing. However, when it comes to architecture, Zemun, where there are houses from the Austro-Hungarian period, and Skadarlija, a bohemian quarter that has the charm of Montmartre, stand out.

Visitors are advised to visit the House of Flowers, Tito's grave and the museum full of gifts that the leader of Yugoslavia received.

Finally, Telegraf pays attention to the "Exit" festival in Novi Sad, which is only an hour's drive from Belgrade. As he points out, it is one of the most famous music festivals in Europe, where many world stars have performed.
