Bulgarian baklava.

  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 5 cups of water
  • 3 cups oil
  • 5 cup flour
  • 3 cups semolina
  • 1 bag of baking powder
  • 100 g of walnuts (ground)
  • 50 g of raisins

For syrup:

  • 4 cups of sugar
  • 6 cups of water
  • 1 piece of lemon
  1. Melt the sugar, and when it turns a caramel color, add water and cook until all the sugar has dissolved. Leave to cool.

  2. Put all the other dry ingredients in another bowl and pour the cooled liquid over them. Combine everything, pour it into a dish that you have greased with oil and sprinkled with flour, then bake in a heated oven at 200 degrees. about half an hour, i.e. until golden brown.

  3. During this time, cook the syrup and pour it over the baked baklava. Cool it well, cut it into desired cubes and serve.
