COMPETITION FOR THE BEST VANILLICES: vanillas - Dragana Vujović

Vanilla.

Vanilla, ingredients:

  • 250 g margarine
  • 60 g of powdered sugar
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 250 g flour
  • 250 g of ground walnuts
  • homemade plum jam with chocolate (or to taste)
  • powdered sugar for rolling the vanilla

Vanilla, preparation:

  • Beat 250 g of margarine with 60 g of powdered sugar and gradually add the juice of 1 lemon.
  • Add 250 g of flour and 250 g of ground walnuts, then mix it all well.
  • Roll out the crust about 1 cm thick with a rolling pin, remove the edges and arrange in a baking tray.
  • Bake the vanilla beans until they turn white, at a temperature of about 180C-200C for about 10-15 minutes, depending on the oven.
  • When they cool down, join them with jam and roll in powdered sugar.

Note:

  • You can also put ground nuts in a smaller amount, e.g. 200 g of ground walnuts and 300 g of flour. It is important that the total amount of dry ingredients is 500 g.
  • I used homemade chocolate plum jam, and you can use any jam you like.
  • Vanilla beans are best when they sit for a while, so it is best to prepare them in the evening for the next day.
