Flowers, what to cook and read in quarantine - Verica Poznanović - Recipes and Cookbook online

Flowers - make flowers and a big flower, take your favorite book and the fun can begin.

This is a double measurement, since I made slightly larger flowers and one large flower, if you only want ten flowers, cut everything in half.

Flowers, ingredients:

  • 700 g of flour,
  • 250 ml of milk,
  • yeast cube,
  • 100 ml of water,
  • 100 ml of oil, or a cube of margarine,
  • 1 tablespoon of salt,
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar,
  • 200 g of salami,
  • 2 eggs and
  • poppy seeds for sprinkling.

Flowers, preparation:

  • Add yeast, sugar and a teaspoon of flour to lukewarm milk and water. Let the yeast rise.
  • Mix the milk with the added yeast in a bowl, add oil and salt, mix, and then replace the dough with flour. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for about thirty minutes.
  • Divide the resulting dough into eleven parts and make small balls from them. Leave one ball aside, and roll out the remaining ten with a rolling pin, about ten centimeters long. You will have more dough left and make one big flower out of it, flatten it like a small cake. Divide one roll of salami in half and place it on the stretched dough. Coat the ends with beaten egg and assemble them into a circle. Cut the dough in a few places with scissors. They flowered in even more places.
  • Transfer the dough to a baking sheet and brush with beaten egg.
  • From the last eleventh part of the dough that you left aside, make small balls. Brush with egg and sprinkle the coated part in the middle with poppy seeds.
  • Heat the oven, at 180 degrees first bake the flowers and then the cake.
