Drinking alcohol in moderation is good for your health. What's more, recent studies have shown that pivo, and especially the black one has many benefits for a woman's health and beauty.

Here's why it's not a bad idea to have a glass of beer after a hard day's work.

1. STRONGER BONES

Women who drink two beers a day have stronger bones than those of the fairer sex who do not enjoy this alcoholic drink. This is the result of a study by the National College of Naturopathic Medicine from the US state of Oregon, which was published in the Natural Medicine Journal.

The same showed that beer contains significant amounts of biodegradable silicon, which is one of the important elements from which human bones are built. Moderate drinking of beer is therefore especially recommended for women in menopause, which is associated with thinning of bone density.

2. PREVENTIVE AGAINST COLDS AND HAS ANTI-INFLAMMATORY PROPERTIES

Beer is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals such as magnesium, calcium and selenium that protect the whole body from seasonal diseases. It also contains numerous antioxidants that strengthen the body's immunity.

"Beer is a food that goes well with other healthy foods with a bitter taste, such as olive oil, spinach, Swiss chard or arugula, and hops, as the basic ingredient of beer, are a rich source of humol, powerful anti-inflammatory compounds. "Humol inhibits the enzymes responsible for triggering inflammatory processes," reveals Croatian nutritionist Maja Maretić.

3. BEAUTIFUL SKIN

Beer is an excellent source of vitamin B complex (thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, pyridoxine, biotin, folic acid and cobalamin), which is responsible for beautiful and taut skin, helps maintain muscle tone, and gives energy to the whole body.

Given that a sufficient amount of vitamins from this group is not absorbed from food, they should be compensated in other ways. There is even an urban legend that mosquitoes avoid people who have balanced amounts of B complex in their bodies.

"Through careful analysis of the ingredients and conducted experiments, scientists have determined that beer strengthens nails and hair due to the yeast and hops it contains. In ancient Egypt, wealthier women used beer to wash their hair because it made it more shiny and beautiful," adds the Croatian nutritionist.

4. REDUCES BODY BLOATING

Research has shown that dark beer has more nutrients than light beer. In 350 milliliters of dark beer, there is, for example, more than one gram of dietary fiber (in the same amount of light beer there is less than 1 gram of dietary fiber), which guarantee the health of the digestive system, reduce flatulence and constipation of the body.

5. KILLS SPRING TIRED

Feeling tired and irritable? You are probably suffering from the effects of spring fatigue, which, among other things, is related to a lack of iron in the blood. It is difficult to absorb from food, so it should be taken in other ways. Black beer is an excellent source of this mineral. The effect of alcohol, on the other hand, will positively solve problems with insomnia.

"Beer is also a rich source of group B vitamins, especially B 12, which is not found in the plant world, and is responsible for the formation of red blood cells. "Once upon a time, children in Ireland were given a teaspoon or two of beer for that very reason, as a medicine," points out Maja Maretić.

6. PROTECTS THE HEART

Moderate drinking of beer increases the amount of good cholesterol, reduces the levels of bad cholesterol, thins the blood and thus reduces the risk of heart attack. An Italian study proved that women who drink one beer a day have a 42 percent lower chance of getting cardiovascular disease than those who did not drink alcoholic beverages. On top of that, drinking alcohol in moderation reduces the chance of getting type 2 diabetes.

7. HYDRATES AFTER EXERCISE

Forget energy drinks, drink a glass of beer after exercise. Spanish researchers from the University of Granada have proven that beer has a better hydrating effect on the body than plain water when the body reaches higher temperatures, which is the case with more serious recreational and professional athletes.

"Beer also contains a large amount of biotin, important for obtaining energy, it contains the anti-stress mineral magnesium, selenium, phosphorus, potassium, and silicon. Therefore, beer is a very good isotonic, so its consumption after sports is recommended. "Beer relaxes, has an anti-inflammatory effect and is an excellent food," concludes Maja Maretić's list of positive characteristics.
