Manifestation "The Days of Queen Jelena", which over the last decade has become part of the cultural tradition of the city of Raška, will be held this year from May 26 to 28, the portal Turisticsvet.com published. Under the auspices of the Municipality of Raška, in the organization of the Center for Culture, Education and Information Gradac, the sisterhood of the Gradac Monastery and the Tourist Organization of Raška. A series of multi-day cultural and artistic events taking place in Raška and in the gate of the Gradac monastery is named after its founder - St. Queen Jelena, who significantly contributed to the development of Serbian medieval culture.
The event will begin with a ceremony with the opening of the painting exhibition "Hostels and lodgings" by Dragan Bartula. The lyrical atmosphere of the paintings dominated by motifs of Orthodox monasteries and churches, figures of monks and Cyrillic inscriptions will properly introduce visitors to the content program of the event. Next promotion of the book "Serbia in 1217. the origin of the kingdom", professors Siniša Mišić and Radivoj Radić, who will talk about the role and importance of Queen Jelena and her sons in this period of Serbian history. At the end of the evening, musical duo "Lyra of St. Xenia", which consists of priest Nikola Petrović (guitar) and Dajana Petrović (vocals), will perform original spiritual music that has been successfully received at forums and poetry evenings throughout Serbia.
The next day, May 27. textile painter Marija Vukosavljević will present the beauty of the ancient art of embroidery. Kindergarten "Veselo detinjstvo" will perform dance point "Medieval Dance", designed through creative familiarization of children with the traditions of their region. Next play "Home Alone", directed by Mina Aleksić, who manages to interest and educate the young audience through popular musical numbers and receptive dramatic dialogues. In the evening classes, professor Predrag Dragutinović with religious teachers Tatjana Dragutinović and Milinka Milićević will lead panel entitled "In the beginning there was meaning - the Gospel in the 21st century", with the aim of presenting in a contemporary, dialogic way the importance of New Testament texts that are far from us in terms of the time of their creation, but close and precious in terms of their content and the message they have been conveying for 20 centuries. The continuation of the evening, as well as tomorrow's Liturgy, will beautify chanting of the octet of the seminary of St. Jovan Zlatousti from Kragujevac.
On the last day, in the gate of the monastery, it was planned art program of students of the Faculty of Arts from Pristina: the art department will within Workshop "Ornaments" present the works created on the occasion of the international scientific conference "Traditional and Contemporary in Art", the music department will present itself with a performance program for which the participants have been awarded several times at national and international competitions, and will be performed during the dramatic performance prayer from "The Life of Queen Jelena". On the same day, it is also planned exhibition called "Gastronomy of the Raš region". At the end of the manifestation follows Vladimir Đurđević's theater play "Perfect Cut" in which the masterful acting of Slobodan Boda Ninković and Dragan Petrović Pelet encourages the viewers of this comic farce to search for the deepest meanings through a smile.
The organizers of "Queen Jelena's Day" invite all interested parties with the hope that year after year this manifestation will bear fruit in Serbian education and culture.
