How to prepare a homemade burger? Ingredients and method of preparation

Whole legends are told about burgers and the way they are prepared. There is no person who prepares homemade burgers without claiming that theirs are the "best", "tastiest", "juiciest".

As with many dishes, the quality of the ingredients, primarily the meat, should be taken into account. Many claim that for ze burgers you have to choose a piece of beef, without fat, which is cut between the neck and the shoulder. Variations of the homemade burger recipe also contain a certain percentage (20-30%) of turkey or some other meat.

If you use a pan to prepare homemade burgers - then, if possible, use a cast iron pan. Heat a little oil in a frying pan over a high heat – until the oil starts to sizzle. Place the burgers in the pan and cook the first side for about 3 minutes. Carefully turn and bake the other side for about 4 minutes, for medium doneness (for well doneness – about 5 minutes).

Homemade burger, ingredients:

  • beef, fat-free, coarsely ground, 600 gr
  • garlic powder, 1/4 tsp
  • onion powder, 1/4 tsp
  • salt, 1/4 tsp
  • dry herb seasoning, 1/4 tsp
  • egg, 1 piece, beaten
  • salty crackers, 8 pieces, finely crumbled
  • toasted cheese, sliced, 4 pieces (cheddar cheese is an integral part of the original recipe)

Homemade burger, preparation:

  • In a mixing bowl, mix the meat with all the other ingredients. Mix well until the mass is completely uniform. Form 4 patties, so that the thickness is more than 1,5 cm.
  • Heat a grill pan to medium heat.
  • Cook each side for about 5 minutes, for a medium burger. When the burger is ready, put toasted cheese on top and remove from the pan.
  • Place the lengthwise cut buns with the inner surface to brown in the pan, for about 1-2 minutes.
  • In the baked buns, insert the burger patty, which has rested for a few minutes, and add side dishes: red onion cut into rings, tomato cut into thin rings, cucumber cut into rings, lettuce cut into strips, according to taste and desire.

The recipe has been tested. In the absence of crackers, we used breadcrumbs. We also added some mustard to the mix. Tip: the burgers are turned only once - the first time you cook one side, then you flip to the other - and that's it - that's it... Don't press the burgers, because they will fall apart and lose their shape.
