On the first weekend of March, March 4th and 5th, in "Mikser House" in Belgrade, Karađorđeva 46, the fifth exhibition of indigenous cheeses of the Balkans, "Balkan Cheese Festival", will be held.
At the festival, more than 120 cheeses from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro will be presented to a wider audience, and cheeses from Switzerland, which is invited this time as a guest country, will also be presented at special presentations and lectures.
Visitors will be able to taste rare and unusual types of cheeses and enjoy pairing cheeses with top wines and delicacies, such as cheese treats and various cheese ice creams.
The working hours of the "Balkan Cheese Festival" will be from 10:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
On the second day of the festival, Sunday, March 5 at 18 p.m., the cheese winners of the festival will be announced according to the votes of the visitors.
The price of a one-day ticket is 250 dinars.
During the festival, on Saturday, March 4, lectures and presentations will be held on the following topics:
noon: Swiss cheeses: History, economic importance and types
at 13 p.m.: Swiss cheese Raclette
at 14 p.m.: Swiss cheese Tête de Moine
at 15 p.m.: Swiss cheese Gruyere AOP
