French gastronomy, ambassador of tradition and hedonism

After the fantastic success of the first world "French" dinner organized in March 2015, we are pleased to announce the second edition A taste of France za Monday, March 21, 2016. The concept remains the same: all over the planet, 1000 restaurants, from modest bistros to the most exclusive points on the gastronomic map of the world, will offer their dinner guests more than 1000 menus in honor of French gastronomy. Goût de France (Tastes of France) is organized on the initiative of one of the most famous French chefs, Alain Ducasse, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development. Promoting this project, Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, recalled the fact that gastronomy entered the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage.

Inspired by the ancient idea of ​​Auguste Escoffier, who in 1912 organized Epicurus' dinner (on the same day, in several world cities, one menu was served for as many guests as possible), a gastronomic feast Goût de France (Gu de France) – Tastes of France it does not offer the same menu all over the world. On the contrary, every culinary master has the opportunity to create his own menu, using local products and traditions as inspiration. The menu should still be inspired by French cuisine. Therefore, every chef who wants to join the action would offer in his restaurant menu "à la française" sticking to the traditional French framework: aperitif with canapés, appetizer, one or two main courses, French cheeses, dessert (or two desserts if quality cheeses cannot be offered), French wines and champagne; through the offered menu, each chef has full freedom to emphasize his own culinary tradition and gastronomic skills.

The basis should be fresh, seasonal and local products with a reduced percentage of fat, sugar, salt and protein and with a lot of vegetables. The price of the offered menus is determined by the restaurants.

Restaurants, but also bistros and bars, apply independently to the organizing committee online, attaching his menu proposal to the application. We invite all interested restaurants, cafes and bistros in Serbia to register as soon as possible at: http://uk.france.fr/en/gout-france-good-france. The deadline is December 17.

In the first edition Goût de France Five restaurants participated, four from Belgrade and one from Kruševac: Chameleon Grand Casino, HoReCa Center, Club of Writers, Madera from Belgrade and Olive Tree from Kruševac. On March 19, the restaurants were packed, the atmosphere was great, the food and service were excellent. They are now part of the "Goût de France" brand and we are sure that they will be with us this year as well.

French embassies around the world support the project locally, among other things, by organizing dinners in their residences. Last year, the French Embassy in Serbia organized, along with a dinner hosted by all the restaurants - participants in the project, a well-attended press conference, as well as a tasting pilot dinner in the residence where the chefs of the above-mentioned restaurants really excelled.
