It's about grape juice, not wine. I haven't started making wine yet. Although, I like lard (shira) more than wine. 

I haven't had it in a long time. It was a long time ago. Great-grandfather made wine, and before wine, fat (shira) is created. My juice is not even similar to my great-grandfather's, but it brought me back in my mind to my childhood and my great-grandfather's house.

For grape juice, you can use any type of grape or combine several types. The color of the juice depends on the type of grape. Now I used only one variety of black grapes.

Grape juice is very easy to prepare. You only need grapes and plain water. The ratio is 1:1, approximately - 1 kg of grapes and 1 l of water. A little patient and that's all. Delicious grape juice is ready to use.

  • 1 kg of grapes
  • 1 liters of water

Grape juice, preparation:

  • Mash the grapes with your hands or in a food processor.
  • Cover with water, mix and let it stand for about half an hour.
  • Strain the groats through a colander, cool the juice and serve.
  • If you need to keep the juice for a few days, boil it for a short time, one "key".
  • Grapes are tasty enough for me, so I don't add sugar.
  • If you like stronger flavors, you can add lemon juice and sugar to the juice.

If you decide to grind the grapes in a food processor (chopper, multi-purpose mixer, hand mixer...) the seeds will also be partially ground, so the juice may have a pungent taste.

If you don't want to get that taste, mash the grapes with your hands or a potato masher. I did not leave the juice prepared in this way for the winter.

And if you still want to store it for a long time, I advise you to pasteurize it.

If you like to experiment, I recommend the combination of grapes and aronia.
