Belgrade, April 16, 2019 - The company METRO and the bank Crédit Agricole Srbija, in cooperation with the Secretariat for Education and Child Protection of the City of Belgrade and the Food Bank, marked today the jubilee, tenth year of the existence of the "Magic breakfast" humanitarian action, at the school for visually impaired students "Veljko Ramadanović", in Zemun.
Supporting a happier childhood, through healthier and better nutrition, is the basic mission of this humanitarian project intended for schools for children with special needs throughout Serbia, which collected over 6 tons of food this year. The humanitarian action lasted from March 14 to April 10, and the ceremonial marking was held today at the "Veljko Ramadanović" school in Zemun.
This year's "Magic breakfast" was opened by the mayor of Belgrade, Prof. Dr. Zoran Radojičić, who particularly emphasized the importance of providing conditions for a happier childhood to our youngest citizens.
The program was entertaining and educational in nature, with the support of Miloš Grlica, Serbian Paralympian and winner of numerous world medals in javelin throwing. A goalball competition was organized, and in addition to the competition, the students had the opportunity to try out special orientation exercises on the unique field of the school in Zemun.
Traditionally, the celebration of the "Magic breakfast" action was also marked by a real culinary feast, prepared by young chefs gathered around the Junior Chefs Club of Serbia, who, after completing the educational and entertaining program, delighted the students with a rich, tasty and healthy meal that they prepared with the support of METRO HoReCa Center.
In this year's humanitarian campaign, more than 6 tons of food were collected, intended for 36 schools in Serbia for children with special needs, and a large number of citizens of our country showed their humanity by purchasing packets in METRO distribution centers and donating to the account of the Food Bank. help children who need help the most.
