Koch with strawberries - semolina koh is usually poured with heated milk to which sugar is added. Actually, I had planned to make baklava with fruit, but since it was late and the shops were not open (and I didn't have crusts), the decision was made - koh with fruit.

I decided to make fruit koh - without milk. You can use any fruit you like. I recommend red fruit. I had strawberries and cherries in the freezer and decided to use them up. If you use fresh fruit, add another 1 dl of water, approximately.

Koh with strawberries - semolina koh is usually topped with heated milk to which sugar is added. I decided to make fruit koh - without milk.

  • 4 pieces of eggs
  • 4 spoons of sugar
  • 1 bag of vanilla sugar
  • 6 tablespoons semolina (full)

Topping:

  • 150 g of cherries (pitted)
  • 150 g of strawberries
  • 8 tablespoons of sugar (or to taste)
  • 4,5 dl water (or more)
  1. Beat the egg whites until stiff. Add sugar (plus vanillin) and beat until it dissolves. At the end, add the egg yolk and mix briefly with a mixer. Stir in semolina.

  2. Grease a 20 x 30 cm baking sheet with oil, sprinkle with flour and pour the koh. Bake it in a heated oven for 25-30 minutes at 180 degrees.

  3. While the koh is baking, prepare the topping: chop the strawberries into smaller pieces, add cherries (pitted), water and sugar. Cook at medium temperature for about 5 minutes, from the moment of boiling.

  4. Pour lukewarm syrup over the baked koh.

  5. You can blend the fruit and coat the koh or pour it together with the dressing over the koh.

The koch should stand for several hours. It is tastiest when well chilled in the fridge.

If you don't like milk or don't consume it for some reason, koh prepared like this is the right choice for you.
