Komisbrot.
Komisbrot, ingredients:
- 300 g of flour,
- 150 g of dried fruit (raisins, apricots, dates, figs, cherries, make a mix you like),
- 100 g of nuts (almonds and walnuts),
- 100 g of candied citrus,
- 125 g of margarine,
- 200 ml fresh milk,
- 150 g of powdered sugar,
- 50 g of honey,
- 50 ml brandy or rum,
- 1 tablespoon of spice mixture (cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves and vanilla),
- 1/2 bag of dry yeast,
- on the tip of a turmeric knife and
- 1 pinch of salt.
Komisbrot, preparation:
- Finely chop the dried fruit and pour brandy or rum over it, leaving it to stand for several hours.
Heat the milk and add 1-2 tablespoons of flour, honey and yeast and leave it to rise in a warm place. - Sift the remaining flour.
- Add salt and spices. Make a well in the center and pour the milk and yeast into it. Cut the margarine into cubes and place around the indentation.
- Beat with a spoon until a smooth thick dough is obtained, gradually add chopped nuts and dried fruit drained from the liquid.
- Pour into a narrow oblong tray like for bread or a roll, or into a kugloff mold.
