In the homes of many Serbs, instead of vasilica, on Little Christmas, kvortanj, a round ceremonial cake with a hole in the middle, is prepared.
Curl, ingredients:
- 500 g of flour,
- 2 eggs,
- 1 cube of yeast,
- 2 dl milk,
- 1 teaspoon of sugar,
- 1 small teaspoon of salt,
- 1 dl oil i
- 1 egg for coating.
Curling, preparation:
- Knead the dough from flour, eggs, milk, sugar, salt, oil and yeast. Leave it in a warm place to rise, then stir.
- Spread the dough on a board sprinkled with flour and make a roll. Shape the dough as you wish, it just needs to be shaped into a circle and have a hole in the middle.
- Leave the dough to rest for about thirty minutes, brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with salt and bake. Preheat the oven. Line a baking tray with baking paper or grease and sprinkle with flour.
- I am a curl sprinkled with sesame seeds.
