Potato stew with dumplings.
Potato stew with dumplings, ingredients:
- 2 heads of onion,
- 1 tablespoon fat or oil,
- 1 kg of potatoes,
- water,
- herb seasoning or salt,
- 1 teaspoon of fine red pepper,
- 1 spoon on top of the flour.
For dumplings you need:
- 1 egg,
- 1 coffee cup of water,
- so,
- 1 spoon of semolina and
- flour 3-4 full spoons.
Potato stew with dumplings, preparation:
- Clean the onion and cut it into cubes and fry it in fat or oil.
- Add the cleaned and diced potatoes to the fried onions and pour water to soak the potatoes. Cook until the potatoes are almost done, when the dumplings are taken out with a spoon and are cooked to soften.
- Dumplings are made while the potatoes are cooking, by breaking an egg in a bowl, adding a little salt, water and adding semolina and flour and mixing well. If the dumpling dough is soft, add more flour.
- When the dumplings are ready, mix the flour and small paprika with water to make it thinner and boil it in stew.
If you like, you can add home-made dry sausage to this stew, cut it into rings, and put them to cook together with the potatoes.
This dish goes well with some roasted pepper salad, cabbage, tomato salad or some other salad.
This dish takes about 60 minutes to prepare and serves 6 people.
