LIFE is an association that cares for children suffering from the most severe forms of rare diseases, including the fatal Batten disease.
We are talking about girls who stop talking and walking already after the age of three, lose their sight and experience numerous epileptic seizures every day. These children are bedridden and on oxygen, fed through a tube and need constant supervision. Unfortunately, these children most often die between the ages of 8 and 12.
Children suffering from Batten's disease are 100% disabled. Association Life makes great efforts to help sick children and their families, because adequate care for these children requires a lot of money. The association collects money for the purchase of medicines, enteral food, diapers, aspirators and oxygen concentrators, wheelchairs and many other means that can alleviate their daily suffering.
Among those suffering from Batten's disease was little Zoya, who, unfortunately, passed away at the age of 8. The law that will enable faster diagnosis of rare diseases in Serbia is named after her.
