Fragrant and soft. Simply enticing...
Ingredients for the dough
- 2 eggs
- 4 dl of milk
- 1 bag of dry yeast
- 100 g of sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 1 grated lemon peel
- 150 g of chopped margarine
- 700 g of flour
Ingredients for the filling
- 250 g of ground poppy seeds
- 2 dl of hot milk
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 40 g of raisins
- 1 egg
For coating
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of water
- 1 spoons of sugar
- Knead the dough from all the ingredients. The dough should be smooth. Immediately divide into three balls.
- Pour hot milk over the poppy seeds and leave to cool. Add egg, sugar and raisins to it.
- Roll each crust into a square crust with a rolling pin and spread 1/3 of the filling on it.
- Repeat the process with the remaining crusts.
- Leave them to rise for 45 minutes. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 C until golden brown. Coat the finished poppy seed with lemon juice, sugar and a little water.
- Leave to cool and cut as desired.
Mix lemon juice, a little sugar and a little water with a brush and coat the baked strudel. The crust is very thin and soft and has a lemon flavor.
