Ingredients for the dough

  • 2 eggs
  • 4 dl of milk
  • 1 bag of dry yeast
  • 100 g of sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 grated lemon peel
  • 150 g of chopped margarine
  • 700 g of flour

Ingredients for the filling

  • 250 g of ground poppy seeds
  • 2 dl of hot milk
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 40 g of raisins
  • 1 egg

For coating

  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 1 spoons of sugar
  1. Knead the dough from all the ingredients. The dough should be smooth. Immediately divide into three balls.
  2. Pour hot milk over the poppy seeds and leave to cool. Add egg, sugar and raisins to it.
  3. Roll each crust into a square crust with a rolling pin and spread 1/3 of the filling on it.
  4. Repeat the process with the remaining crusts.
  5. Leave them to rise for 45 minutes. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 C until golden brown. Coat the finished poppy seed with lemon juice, sugar and a little water.
  6. Leave to cool and cut as desired.
Mix lemon juice, a little sugar and a little water with a brush and coat the baked strudel. The crust is very thin and soft and has a lemon flavor.
