It blooms in spring, when our body needs a vitamin bomb the most. Dandelion is full of potassium, essential oils, inulin and various other substances necessary for the body to function.

Dandelion is a plant that is very widespread in our region. It is a true treasure trove of vitamins and minerals.

The leaves of this precious plant contain 16-18 percent of vitamin C and about three percent of iron, much more than spinach. All parts of the dandelion are medicinal - flowers, leaves and roots. The leaves and roots are dried in a cool and airy place or in an oven at a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.

What is it used for

Regular consumption of dandelion, in addition to improving the functioning of the kidneys, liver and stomach, cures ulcers, eczema and skin diseases. It accelerates sweating and urination, which leads to the expulsion of harmful substances from the body.

In addition, the consumption of dandelion, in all its forms, is recommended for smokers or ex-smokers, because no other plant cleans the blood, blood vessels, mucous membranes of the respiratory organs and lungs so well.

Dandelion is also used to treat skin diseases, allergies, ulcers and anemia, lower blood cholesterol levels and regulate the menstrual cycle. Dandelion flowers are used to make juice, syrup, tea and salad.

Sok

The most medicinal and effective is freshly squeezed dandelion juice, which is recommended for alleviating stomach problems and treating hemorrhoids. Grind the leaves and roots of freshly picked dandelions and squeeze out the juice. Pour two teaspoons of juice into a glass of milk, sweeten it with honey and drink it for twenty days, in the morning on an empty stomach.

Syrup

Dandelion syrup is quick and easy to make, and is used to strengthen the body, cleanse blood vessels and regulate digestion. Boil two cups of dandelion flowers in two liters of water, strain, add a kilogram of honey and the juice of two lemons, then cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until you get a syrup. Pour it into a bottle and close it. Take one tablespoon two to three times a day.

Tea

Dandelion tea relieves pain during urination and accelerates the elimination of excess water from the body. Mix a teaspoon of dried dandelion leaves, a teaspoon of flowers and a teaspoon of finely chopped dandelion root, put in a bowl, pour a cup of boiling water, cover and let it stand. After 20 minutes, strain the tea and sweeten it with a teaspoon of honey. Drink two to three cups of tea daily.

Salad

Wash the dandelion leaves well and drain. Mix olive oil with apple cider vinegar and garlic. Add salt and pepper. Mix everything well and let it stand for half an hour.
