With the presence of a large number of distinguished guests, representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Embassy of Italy, members, associates and friends Association of Italian industrialists in Serbia - Confindustrija Srbija, on February 4, Frheld The solemn assembly of this Association, which has been successfully operating in Serbia for the eighth year.

Honorary guests of the Solemn Assembly of Confindustria were the First Vice-President of the Government of Serbia and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić, Minister of Agriculture Branislav Nedimović, Minister Slavica Djukić-Dejanović, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia Marko Čadež, President of the Veneto Region Luka Zaja and Ambassador of Italy Carlo Lo Caso.

The solemn assembly was an opportunity to is the newly elected president of Confindustria Serbia, Patrizio Dei Tos address the attendees as well as to present together with his team the results of the previous work of the Confindustrija Association, future plans and activities with the aim of successfully continuing the development of quality economic relations between Italy and Serbia for mutual benefit.

At the beginning of the Solemn Assembly, the president of Confindustria in Italy, Vincenzo Boccia, greeted the attendees with a video message.

The new president of Confindustria, Patricio Dei Tos, said on that occasion, among other things: "I am convinced that for us businessmen who do business in a foreign country, one of the priorities is constant and close cooperation with local institutions." Only thanks to the relationship of trust, harmony, dialogue, confrontation and exchange of knowledge, it is possible to do business with a clear goal and get the most out of our business projects. This country provides us with something very valuable for our business, which is our associates. Associates who come from a business and work culture, thanks to which they possess skills, professionalism and identity, all of which make it easier for Italian companies to do business in Serbia."

Eric Kosuta, the previous president of Confindustria, who led this Association for two terms from 2012-2019, emphasized that his speech was certainly not a farewell speech and that he remains in Serbia as an active member of the General Council of Confindustria Serbia, within which he will have, so to speak, little a less responsible position, leaving the helm to a big businessman like Patricio Dei Tos. "I will continue to advocate for ideas and projects that are particularly important to me personally." Here, above all, I am thinking of topics such as: care for young people, about their future in this country, about the return of talents and all other resources necessary to guarantee the stable and long-term growth of every country," Košuta emphasized.

The Italian ambassador Lo Casho also greeted those present: "Italy and Serbia are connected by historical friendship, based on intense political, cultural and economic-trade ties." Last year we celebrated 140 years of diplomatic relations and 10 years of strategic partnership. The importance that our country attaches to Serbia is also shown by the continuous visits of the highest Italian officials: last year Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte visited Serbia, then Minister of Environmental Protection Sergio Costa and Minister of European Affairs Vincenzo Amendola. Today we have the honor to host the President of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaija, while next week the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luigi Di Maio, will be in Belgrade."

The First Vice-President of the Government of Serbia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic, said that the two countries have a long tradition of successful cooperation, which has been further improved over time, and is confirmed again and again. "Given that Italy represents Serbia's first-class political and economic partner, we intend to host the fourth joint session of the two governments in Belgrade in the coming period, which could be followed by the Business Summit of the businessmen of the two countries," said Dacic. "Italy is one of the biggest investors in the Serbian economy, and so far Italian companies have invested around three billion euros in Serbia and employed 26.000 workers."

The president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Marko Chadež, pointed out that Italy is an important trade partner of Serbia and that Italian companies contribute to its economy.

"What we will work on together is to bring more Italian partners to Serbia, as well as for our companies to export even more." The total exchange of goods between Serbia and Italy last year, in 2019, amounted to 3,8 billion euros, and that is a great success," said Čadež. Luka Zaia, president of the Veneto region, also addressed those present.

After the address of the host and guests, the ceremony of presenting the annual Confindustria awards to the most successful members of Confindustria Serbia in three categories: socially responsible business, contribution to dual education and support to the Italian economy followed.

In the category Socially responsible business - the award went to the company ELEKTROREMONT. After the successful completion of the privatization process, the company acts responsibly towards its parent company by locally contributing to the promotion of the "Italia" brand, and at the same time towards the local community by actively helping, involving and engaging the family members of its employees and thus contributing to the reduction of local unemployment. The company continues to make an important contribution in the context of continuous training and employment, thus acting as a spokesperson for Confindustria Serbia's local initiatives.

In the category "Contribution to the implementation of the dual education system" - the winner of the award is the company AUNDE from Jagodina. in 2018, the Aunde company contributed to the realization of the "Open Day of the Italian Economy" initiative, and on that occasion, the cooperation between Confindustria Srbija and the AUNDE company in the field of dual education, a project that was worked on during 2019, began. The result of joint work and efforts is the introduction of a new educational profile in secondary vocational schools "industrial tailor". The Aunde company also launched an academy in its factory for the continuous improvement of its employees, which is also available to interested unemployed persons from the territory of the city of Jagodina.

The recognition for "Support to the Italian economy" was received by the National Employment Service. The National Employment Service is a reliable partner for all Italian businessmen who decide to develop their business activities in this part of the Balkans.
