Belgrade, October 29, 2018 - Baby Food Factory - Baby Food Factory was officially opened in Dobanovci today. The new, modern factory with the most modern facilities covers 13.605 m2 and represents a "greenfield" investment in the amount of 34 million euros, which makes this baby food factory one of the largest investments in Serbia this year and the largest domestic investment. In the first phase, the Baby Food Factory employed over 100 highly qualified specialists of various profiles, while at the peak of production, by 2020, that number will exceed 300.
The factory was officially opened in the presence of the president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Marko Čadež, the factory owner, management, employees and numerous partners who contributed to the success of the project.
The new factory is equipped with the most modern, highly efficient, process and technological equipment, which guarantees production in accordance with high standards of quality and safety of baby food. The daily capacity will include 50 tons of delicious and healthy baby food, which is produced under its own brand "Nutrino" and which, in addition to domestic and regional, will also be found on the market of the Russian Federation.
"The exceptional dedication of the team behind the Baby Food Factory project, recognition of the needs of both the domestic and regional markets, contributed to the fact that today we have a modern factory in Serbia, which meets world standards with its technological equipment. I am pleased that this project creates jobs and contributes to economic activities in Serbia, and I am convinced that in the years ahead Baby Food Factory will be a reliable partner of the community in which it operates and above all of our consumers, whose needs are woven into every part of our production" - said Željko Ciganović, executive director of Baby Food Factory.
The president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Marko Čadež, pointed out that projects like the Baby Food Factory are not seen every day in Serbia. "This is proof that there are business people in Serbia who recognize the opportunities and needs of both the domestic and foreign markets. This investment is also important for the growth and development of the economy. Serbia got a factory built and equipped according to the highest standards in the production of baby food. It is also significant because it brings new jobs and jobs to domestic suppliers," said Čadež.
In addition to the most modern and strictly controlled production process, what makes Baby Food Factory unique in our market are the production conditions that are not standard in the production of baby food. The entire factory is made in so-called "clean room panels", which are a requirement in the pharmaceutical industry and operating rooms where cleanliness is of crucial importance.
As part of the Baby Food Factory, a physico-chemical and microbiological laboratory operates, and the control of the production process is carried out from the incoming raw materials, through the processing process, to the finished products. The raw materials used in production are approved for the production of baby food according to the strictest European standards.
Baby Food Factory will offer a complete range of baby food, including dry cereal, ready-to-drink cereal, juices and purees in glass as well as new, soft pouch packaging.
The distributor and strategic partner of Baby Food Factory for the Western Balkans is the company Nelt, while the distributor for the Russian market is the company Farmalakt. Nutrino products are already found in most retail stores in Serbia, while they will soon be found in the markets of countries in the region.
