As part of the global campaign "16 days of activism to combat violence against women", the Embassy of Sweden, in cooperation with the Photographer's Factory and Aleksandar Crnogorec, is organizing a photo exhibition called "16 Women".
The exhibition will be opened on Monday, December 11 at 18 pm in the Film Gallery of the Hall of the Cultural Center of Belgrade.
The exhibition shows portraits of 16 women from the public life of Serbia who give their support to all women who have survived or face psychological violence in various forms. The aim of the exhibition is to point out this type of abuse that often remains invisible and unrecognized, as well as to encourage women to have the courage and strength to resist it. The exhibition also aims to spread awareness of the importance of fighting violence against women and to promote gender equality and human rights.
The exhibition will be open until January 11, 2024.
On the same evening, at 20 p.m., the Swedish film Charter from 2020, directed by Amanda Kernel, will be shown. It is about a mother who, in the process of divorce, kidnaps her children and takes them to Tenerife. The film was nominated for a Nordic Film Council award. In the same year, the Swedish Film Institute nominated it for the Academy Award in the category for the best foreign film
Admission to the film screening is free.
