Prebranac.

Prebranica, ingredients:

  • 500 g of white beans
  • 500 g of onion
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic
  • 200 ml of oil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 spoon of allspice
  • so

Prebranac, preparation:

  • Wash the beans, pour water and leave to stand overnight.
  • The next day, drain the water, pour water over the beans again and cook for 10-15 minutes.
  • Discard the water, wash the beans well, pour cold water over them, add a teaspoon of salt and a bay leaf.
  • Cook to soften. Then drain it from the water. Clean the onion and put it in cold water to stand for ten minutes. Then cut it into thin rings.
  • Heat one part of the oil in a saucepan and fry the onion until golden brown.
  • Remove from the heat and add finely chopped garlic, a little ground pepper, allspice and salt.
  • Put a row of beans, a row of onions in a ceramic or fireproof dish. Cover each row of onions with a spoonful of oil. The last row must be beans. At the end, pour the water where the beans were cooked, so that it soaks, and bake in an oven heated to 200 C until the water evaporates and the skin is set (about half an hour).
