The lecture entitled "Multiculturalism in Bečkerek through the centuries" will be held in the Small Hall of the Zrenjanin National Museum on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 19 p.m. The participants are history professor Milan Radaković and professor Nikola Šlajh, and the event is organized by the German People's Council - Zrenjanin branch, on whose behalf Robert Sabo will address the audience.
Professor Nikola Schlajh is the author of the "Monograph of the city of Bečkerek - contributions to the history of six centuries of Bečkerek and the Banat region", which was written in the spirit of nurturing tradition through multiculturalism. The book will be published in 2018, and the lecture is one of the activities of the project "Monography of the city of Bečkerek - contributions to the history of six centuries of Bečkerek and the Banat region". The project is supported by the German People's Council.
The German People's Council, based in Subotica, is a non-political organization that deals with the preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of the Vojvodina Germans. The president of the organization is Rudolf Weiss. The branch of the German National League was recently formed in Zrenjanin and in a short time it attracted numerous members and sympathizers. The coordinator for Banat is Robert Sabo.
