It is known that Italians have a great passion for food, as well as that this country has long amazed the whole world with its art in making wine. Italy has 20 wine regions and excellent prerequisites for growing grapes, and their dedication and love for wine is evidenced by the fact that as much as 30 percent of the world's total production comes from this Mediterranean country.

"Italian wines are the most sought-after imported wines in Serbia for a reason. Italy is the largest producer of wine in the world, with a great diversity of varieties and climates in different regions. This makes Italian wines exciting to discover. A long tradition guarantees impressive quality, and large production very competitive prices, for which the wines from the Italian south are a particularly good example. You can always count on a good price-quality ratio there. It is a special pleasure to pair such authentic and characterful wines with superbly designed bites, which we had the opportunity to experience today at the METRO HoReCa center," he said on this occasion. Igor Luković, President of the Board of the Association of Sommeliers of Serbia.

When it comes to matching wine and food, it is a special art for Italians. An example is wine Livia Antica Fiano di Avelino 2015, one of the labels presented at the tasting.

This wine is specific for its scent of meadow honey, quince and pear, orange blossom and lemon peel. It has a noble and layered character. In the mouth it is juicy, with fine fruity freshness, with a nutty finish, and a little almond bitterness. Livia goes best with fish carpaccio, tempura, and octopus salad.
