Belgrade, March 20, 2019. - The arrival of spring and the beginning of a new season is best celebrated in selected company with delicious food and good wine. METRO did exactly that, when it gathered dear friends in the HoReCa Center and presented Borgobruno - METRO Wine of 2019 with a tasting.
Every year the sommeliers of the METRO company choose partners with whom they would create one of their trademarks - Vino Godine. After a careful selection of the geographical region that shows the greatest potential for a given year, METRO embarks on a detailed search for winemakers who stand out especially for the quality of the production process, as well as the final products. In the end, when they decide on a partner - the process of creating a unique blend begins, which will eventually lead to the new METRO Vina Godine.
This time the selection ended in Italy, more precisely Tuscany, one of the wine treasures of the world. It was created there together with the Castellani winery, which has been producing top-quality wines for five generations Borgobruno - METRO Wine In 2019, Borgobruno is truly a true representative of the unique nature and landscape of Tuscany, but also of the Italian way of life - enjoying nature, sun, socializing and good food.
A rich assortment of this wine was presented today at the HoReCa Center in Belgrade. During a special wine and food tasting, METRO experts, Milan Trebaljevac and Milica Aleksić, talked about the Wine of the Year and presented the best combinations for top food pairings with Borgobruno wine, whose palette is created for every occasion and a wide selection of dishes.
Both traditional and more innovative ways to combine wine and foods available during the season are shown. Those present had the opportunity to try prepared gastronomic specialties with red, white and rosé Borgobruno, each according to its characteristics, presented with the appropriate type of appetizer, meal or dessert.
Let's say, Borgobruno red wine is characterized by aromas of red fruit and vanilla. It is a true representative of red Tuscan wines and goes perfectly with a very rich range of foods. Its color is intense ruby red, and it tastes best when served at a temperature of 16-18C°.
On the other hand, with white Borgobruno, the aroma of white flowers and tropical fruits dominates, while the palate has a pleasant freshness. It has the best aroma when served at a temperature of 10-12°C, and it combines extremely well with various appetizers, typical Italian cheeses, seafood and white meat dishes.
Borgobruno rosé represents an ideal summer refreshment and goes perfectly with various salads and lighter dishes, but it also makes an excellent combination with cured meat products. Light notes of red fruit reach their maximum when served at a temperature of 10-12C°.
In the end, regardless of preferences, this year's Wine of the Year selection once again confirms why the METRO range is always a reliable guarantor of quality and variety.
