Choosing something tasty from a restaurant menu can be challenging, especially if you are drawn to several dishes. This is a chef's recommendation about what they would never order in restaurants.

The list of dishes they would not order included fish on Mondays and eggs in hollandaise sauce, as well as many other dishes.

EGGS WITH HOLLANDISH SAUCE

Famous chef Anthony Borden claims that brunch is a meal where chefs usually serve leftovers from dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. A frequent guest choice is eggs with sauce, and Borden claims that the sauce needs to be kept at a certain temperature to be safe for consumption.

"Bacteria love hollandaise", he wrote in his book "Kitchen Confidential".

OYSTERS

Unless you're at a restaurant that prides itself on its seafood dishes, avoid oysters. If they are not good, it can be very bad for you. Therefore, it would be very good if you are sure that the restaurant gets them from a verified supplier and that they are fresh.

FISH ON MONDAYS

Most restaurants order fish on Thursday, which means that if you order it on Monday, it is five days old. The quality of fish decreases rapidly with time, so it is preferable to eat it as fresh as possible.

"I never order fish on Mondays, unless I'm eating at a four-star restaurant that I know gets its fish directly from the catch," Borden wrote.

ANY CHICKEN DISH

If you watch cooking shows regularly, you've probably noticed that chefs rarely put chicken at the center of their meals. The reason for this is the fact that this meat is difficult to prepare to be rich in taste and juicy. Chicken dishes are often expensive, even though chicken is one of the cheaper types of meat on the market.

SEAFOOD IF YOU'RE NOT BY THE COAST

If you're along the coast, chances are the seafood you're eating was caught that morning. The further you are from the coast, the longer the transport time, and it is possible that they arrived at the restaurant frozen. As soon as they are caught, the quality of seafood deteriorates, so avoid ordering seafood unless you are sure it was caught that day. Borden also recommends not ordering mussels because the chefs often miss the bad ones and you can be very sick after the meal.

WELL ROASTED BEEF

Chefs hate to prepare well-done beef, because they know that prolonged heat treatment destroys such an expensive piece of meat and turns it into a tough meal. However, there is another reason, and it was discovered by Borden.

"Saving meat for stronger roasting is a tradition of all chefs. Namely, those pieces of meat that are not of such high quality are saved for later, that is, those customers who prefer the taste of coal anyway", he said.

DO NOT ORDER DISHES NOT ON THE MENU

Nothing will make chefs and waiters more angry than customers who want too many changes to the original dish.

"Every time someone orders something that's not on the menu, we all go crazy. The waiter has to go to the kitchen and explain the guest's special wishes, which wastes too much time and ends up with no one being satisfied with the final dish," wrote one Reddit user who introduced himself as a chef.
