Sutlijaš - Kristina Gašpar - Recipes and Cookbook online

You are silent is a creamy dessert that is often eaten instead of breakfast. Sutlijash is rice porridge or pudding. The basic ingredients are rice, milk and sugar.

You can enrich the sutlijaš with sweet spices of your choice. I usually add: vanilla, raisins and cinnamon. Sutlijash is a Turkish specialty, but it is very common in our cuisine.

This delicacy is a traditional specialty and I believe that there is no person who has not prepared or tried it.

Sutlijash, ingredients:

  • 200 g of rice
  • 1,2 liter of milk
  • 6 spoon of sugar
  • 1 handful of raisins
  • 1 vanilla sugar
  • cinnamon to taste

<strong>Preparation: </strong>

  • Pour milk over the washed rice and cook at a lower temperature for 15-20 minutes.
  • Sutlijash should be stirred frequently so that it does not stick.
  • If necessary, you can add more milk or water, depending on the taste (if the taste of milk is strong, feel free to pour a little water).
  • When the rice is cooked and the sauce becomes creamy, add sugar, raisins and vanilla sugar.
  • Boil for another minute.
  • Pour into bowls and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • You can serve this delicacy both hot and cold.

Note:

  • You can adjust the amount of milk to taste depending on how thick you like it.
  • When determining the amount of milk, take into account that the sutlijash will be firmer when it cools.
