Easter wreath.
Easter wreath, ingredients:
For the dough:
- 500 g of flour,
- 20 g of fresh yeast,
- 1 teaspoon of sugar,
- 1,5 teaspoons of salt,
- 70 g butter,
- 300 ml of milk.
For coating and sprinkling:
- 1 egg,
- if necessary, sesame.
Easter wreath, preparation:
- Crumble the yeast into 100 ml of lukewarm milk, add sugar, 1 teaspoon of flour, mix and leave to stand for 5 minutes.
- Pour the flour into a deep bowl.
- Put the butter in a saucepan and melt it over low heat.
- Add milk to butter, mix and pour into a bowl with flour.
- Add sugar, added yeast, salt and knead the dough.
- Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for an hour.
- Then knead the dough, cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for another hour.
- Transfer the dough to a floured work surface and divide into 3 parts, forming noodles.
- Make sticks out of the noodles, then make a braid out of them.
- Connect in a circle and make a wreath.
- Transfer to an oil-greased fireproof dish, cover with a clean kitchen towel and let stand for 15 minutes.
- During this time, heat the oven to 250 degrees.
- Make a circle the size of an egg out of aluminum foil and press it into the recess.
- Beat the egg with a fork, coat the wreath and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake at 180 degrees for 40 minutes.
- Take the Easter wreath out of the oven, leave it to cool, and serve it in an ovenproof dish. Remove the foil and insert a painted egg in its place.
