Sourdough kuglof.

Sourdough kuglof, ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 500 g of flour,
  • 4 spoons of sugar,
  • 1 bag of vanilla sugar,
  • 200 ml of milk,
  • 20 g of fresh yeast,
  • 4 eggs,
  • 120 g butter,
  • some lemon zest,
  • 2 pinches of salt.

For sprinkling:

  • if necessary, powdered sugar

Kugloff from yeast dough, preparation:

For the dough:

  • Crumble the yeast into 100 ml of lukewarm milk, add 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of flour, mix and leave to stand for 5 minutes.
  • Pour the flour into a deep bowl, add 100 ml of lukewarm milk, melted and cooled butter, egg yolk, yeast, 3 spoons of sugar, grated lemon peel, salt and vanilla sugar and finally stir in the beaten egg whites (beat the egg whites gently with a fork until foamy).
  • Combine everything with a mixer (dough attachment).
  • Coat the mold for kuglof with butter, sprinkle with flour and put the prepared dough.
  • Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for an hour.
  • Bake in a well-heated oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the baked kuglof from the oven, cover with a clean kitchen towel and leave to cool.
  • Place the kuglof on a tray and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  • Cut the kuglof into pieces of the desired thickness, serve and serve.
