Fasting newlyweds - the dough is kneaded in the evening. In the morning, the dough is rolled out, the desired shapes are cut and the newlyweds are baked. It is customary to make 40 newlyweds (an association with 40 martyrs).
Early in the morning, my grandmother baked the newlyweds, so that when we got up they would be fresh, warm, soft and tasty. The newlyweds are coated with honey. Fasting is done on that day, so the newlyweds should also fast. It is customary for newly married couples to celebrate this holiday. The newlyweds are coated with honey so that their marriage will be as sweet as honey.
